Rocky Linux 10 Released: CIQ-Backed Kernel 6.12 LTS and SBOM by Default

The Rocky Enterprise Software Foundation has announced the general availability of Rocky Linux 10, the latest major version of the community-driven RHEL-compatible distribution.

Kernel 6.12 LTS

Rocky 10 ships with Linux kernel 6.12, the first LTS kernel with real-time support merged mainline (PREEMPT_RT). This makes the distribution attractive for industrial, automotive, and low-latency financial workloads without third-party kernel patches.

SBOM for Every Package

Every rpm package ships with a CycloneDX SBOM embedded as metadata, accessible via rpm -q --sbom <package>. The build infrastructure also publishes SLSA provenance v1.0 attestations — meeting most government software supply chain requirements out of the box.

Extended Support

CIQ is providing 10 years of security maintenance for Rocky 10 customers, aligning with RHEL 10's support lifecycle. Community support continues for 5 years.
